Introduction
I've always enjoyed writing but I've never felt like I was very good at it. Taking Writing 2010 has helped me improve all of my writing skills. I now feel more comfortable doing research and icluding that in my papers before I was hesitant because I didn't know how to include all of the information that I wanted to without it being plagarism.I also feel more comportable putting my papers in APA standard format. My biggest take away from this class was thesis writing and placement. To be honest I never really knew what a thesis was but now I do and I have a better understanding of where the thesis should go in my papers. Not only did I benefit from the actual writing skills but I also know more about the costs of college and after all of the debate, I've learned college is worth it. Everything I have learned in writing 2010 will be beneficial to me in the future, Most classes will almost always require some sort of writing piece, and being able to write a thesis and place it in the correct area. I also noticed this semester that APA standard format is used quite a bit, so it will be good to have a better understanding of that.I plan to keep working on my writing skills. I hope better my overall flow in my papers, i feel like if a paper flows well it will be much easier to understand. This class was just the beginning for me. I hope you enjoy my journey through Writing 2010.
Analysis
I stated that I feel much better about my research and citation now than I did beofre. In my first paper, Synthesis 1 I struggled a little bit with this. In Synthesis 1 I never cited the author or source I got the information from, I didn't even list my citations in the end which is a big no no. But if you see, as my papers progress, I get better with this. In my last paper, the argument campaign I had used refernce to the author in the paragraph itself and I have a list of the sources I use at the end. Another thing I stuggled with in the beginning was formatting. I had never even seen APA format before and I had no idea how to do it. Using Synthesis 2 as an example, my works cited were not in alphabetical order, and therefore it is not in APA, I have gotten a lot better at this and if you see in my final paper again the argument campaign, all citation is in APA. Now last but not least I struggled a lot with my thesis statement and placement. There wasn't even a thesis in Synthesis 1 or 2 but if you look at my argument campaign my thesis is clearly there and I've included it throughout the paper. Do I think everything is perfect? no but I have doen my best and I feel like i have improved tremendously, I think overall the structure of my paper has improved and I feel much better about my writing than I did before.
